Ranks

Alpha/Alphess

The Alpha and Alphess are the leaders of the pack, their job is to make sure the pack is safe and well. They accept or reject wolves and assign ranks. If you decide to take on an alpha for their rank it may end in death or rejection from the pack. There are two positions Alpha (male) and the Alphess (female) they must be mates. To hold this position the wolf must be two years old.

Heir

The heir is usually an alpha pup but doesn't have to be. When the alphas retire or die they must choose an heir to continue on. They also take over the duties of the alphas if they're not available. The heir can accept wolves, reject them, and assign ranks if the alphas allow them too. There is only one heir and can be either gender. Wolf must be at least one year old and this rank cannot be fought over.

Betas

Betas are close to the alphas and help them run pack life. If there is no Heir or the Heir is away the Betas step up and control things. If allowed by the alphas they can accept wolves, reject them and assign ranks. There are two Betas one male and one female, they are mates, wolves must be at least two years old and this rank can be fought over.

Pup Sitter

All of the wolves help to raise the pups but the Pup Sitter is a wolf who is especially good at taking care of pups. They watch and protect the pups while the pack is hunting. This wolf must be trusted by the alphas and have a lot of patience. The Pup Sitter must be able to be mature but also play with the pups. The Pup Sitter can be either gender and must be a least one year old.

Lead Hunter

The lead hunter is the one who the alphas trust to lead their hunts for food. Mostly the alphas lead the hunt but the lead hunter keeps the other hunters in line while on a hunt. There is only one lead hunter, can be either gender and must be at least two years old.

Lead Guard

The lead guard is someone who the alphas trust to protect the border of the pack lands. They are in charge of all the other guards, if they are not doing there duty they have the right to punish them in ways seen fit by the alphas. They keep to the borders mostly. There is one lead guard, can be either gender and must be at least two years old.

Hunters

Hunters make up most of the pack. They go on all pack hunts and they help to bring down the prey. There are two types of hunters. Trackers and Ambushers. They are led by the Lead Hunter. They must be at least one year old.

  • Trackers- Find and separate prey from herd. They are agile wolves.
  • Ambushers- Attack and kill the prey. They are usually big and strong wolves.

Guards

Guards protect and patrol the pack's border. They are responsible for keeping out intruders and keeping new wolves at bay until the alphas or betas arrive. They are led by the Lead Guard. They must be at least one year old.

Omega

The Omega is the lowest ranking wolf in the pack. They are treated very poorly. Wolves often will take out their anger on the omega. Wolves will usually get put into that position if they are too weak and submissive or if they cannot stay out of trouble. There is usually one omega but there could be more. Must be at least one year old.

Alpha Pups

Alpha pups are the offspring of the alphas who are under a year old. They cannot hold a position in the pack because they are young, but they are respected because they are future alphas. Amount of puppies is unlimited. Under a year old.

Pups

These are the pups of other pack members. Unlimited amount of puppies and must be under a year old.

Eating Order

1. Alphas
2. Heir, Betas
3. Lead Hunter, Lead Guard
4. Hunters, Guards, Pup Sitters, Pups
5. Omega

Pups may eat earlier because nutrition is needed.

Behavior

~Wolves do not leave their pack's territory while in a pack.
~If wolves do not show submission to those of higher ranking there will be trouble.
~Wolves can be aggressive to lower ranking wolves but not too aggressive or there may be trouble.
~Wolves usually stay together but they may wander off in small groups though.
